Weston Park Hospital Cancer Charity

At the start of the campaign, the Weston Park Hospital Cancer Charity shop in Crookes in Sheffield received a visit from Nick Clegg, Liberal Democrat MP for Sheffield Hallam.

He said: “I’m delighted to come to the Weston Park Hospital Cancer Charity shop in Crookes to show my support for such a worthy local cause.  I would urge everyone to have a search of their homes to find things they no longer use so they can make a donation as part of the Campaign.”

Nick was joined by newly elected local Liberal Democrat Councillor Rob Frost,  who said:

”Crookes has a number of Charity Shops which support the local community. It is vital we all get behind them as part of the “Choose Charity Shops’ campaign. Across the UK they are responsible for around 17,000 paid jobs and 180,000 volunteering opportunities, whilst offering low cost high quality goods.”

Rachel Thorpe, Director at Weston Park Hospital Cancer Charity, said:

“We were delighted to see Nick and Rob drop by our shop in Crookes to help raise awareness of the campaign. Our sales rely on local people donating items such as clothing, bric-a-brac and jewellery. Any work to help raise awareness and boost donations is extremely welcome. “
